\"Sonay<\/p>\n

In the \u201cSonay\u201d concert of the women of the Aylan group<\/a> in Tehran\u2019s Vahdat Hall<\/a> and the Azadi Tower Cultural Complex Hall<\/a>, the essence of this ancient and valuable folk ritual is conveyed through dramatic movements paired with ritual music. The performance narrates the story of the moon and sun, which come closest to each other in late summer to create “Sonay,” before drifting apart again. This separation marks the arrival of the cold months and the challenges of winter. Eventually, the celebration of Bayram (Nowruz) arrives, symbolizing renewal. The performance also reflects the conclusion of summer, the end of the harvest, and the farmers’ transition into a period of rest, celebrated with the beautiful folk ritual known as \u201cSonay.<\/p>\n
